FUNDRAISING

I plan to continue work over the next several years on the Residential Parenting Program photo project begun in February, 2003. Several areas I hope to further explore are the health care needs and systems in place for the program's participants, the background history of the RPP, cost-effectiveness issues, working staff thoughts and opinions, released inmates’ successes and failures, and more in-depth interviews with the inmate mothers. I also hope to encourage the production of a music CD with lullabies and children’s songs produced by the WCCW Choir, Unity Choir.

The social issues our country is facing with increasing numbers of incarcerated pregnant women are not going to be locked up, key thrown away, and forgotten. After release, these women will be returning to our communities, raising their children, and needing encouragement and opportunities to overcome the problems leading to criminal activity. Reducing recidivism and intergenerational crime will be the outcome of intervention and rehabilitation through programs like the Residential Parenting Program.

Tax deductible contributions made to this photodocumentary project will support the continuation of the work and increase public awareness of this and related social concerns. Checks should be made to RFI/RPP Photodocumentary (Rebuilding Families Incorporated, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization) and mailed to:
